Vision
Building power for the rest of us.
We believe everyone should have a voice in the policy decisions affecting our lives. Inclusive governance—led by frontline communities, including, but not limited to, Black people, Indigenous people, other people of color, women, LGBTQIA+ people, people with disabilities, immigrants, people of various faiths and traditions, people experiencing homelessness, and low-income people—is key to achieving a nation in which all of us can thrive. We contribute to dismantling systems of systematic oppression and injustice by ensuring that historically marginalized communities are directly shaping the policies that impact their lives.
We fight for racial, economic, climate, reproductive, and gender justice with frontline communities and support policy change by providing strategic insight and tools. We do not dictate what communities want for themselves or undermine their demands but rather listen to communities and take direction from them to build a more just world. We harness our policy and process knowledge to educate our partners, foster cross-movement solidarity, and demystify government. We organize our partners around immediate and long-range policy opportunities to improve people's lives while fighting for transformational change to dramatically reshape our democracy.
