About the CPC Center
The Congressional Progressive Caucus Center (“the Center”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that is harnessing the power of the progressive movement to drive progressive ideas into the debate, generate the momentum we need to advance progressive reforms, and build progressive power across America. The Development Associate will be the primary support for the Congressional Progressive Caucus Center’s fundraising operations. The Development Associate will aid in implementing the fundraising plan, support the leadership in their fundraising activities, and provide overall assistance in growing the CPC Center’s revenue streams.
The Development Associate works closely with the entire CPC Center team. The ideal candidate is highly organized, manages up effectively, possesses excellent communication skills and has impeccable attention to detail. They thrive in a fast-paced workplace environment.
Provide central coordination and tracking for all development activities
Provide direct support to the leadership team on all fundraising activities
Update and maintain donor records in the database
Schedule donor meetings, phone calls, travel, etc. for fundraising principals
Manage pledge collection and donor acknowledgement process
Compile and track call sheets and acknowledgement letters for fundraising principals
Prepare materials for meetings and produce follow-up materials as required
Research foundation and individual prospects. Compile background information and briefing memos as needed
Assist in the assembly of foundation reports and proposal submissions
Create regular fundraising reports as needed
Coordinate logistics for fundraising events including event details (venue, food, entertainment, etc.) and fundraising details (invitation, guest lists, RSVPs, etc.)
Implement donor communications and ensure timely schedule of activity
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
A strong interest in progressive policies, democracy, finance and fundraising
Outgoing personality and willingness to pitch in where needed
A minimum of one to two years’ experience in an administrative positive, preferably in a political campaign finance or nonprofit fundraising department
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. Experience with NGP VAN, Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge or another donor management software a plus
Ability to organize and prioritize work
Excellent interpersonal skills
Attention to detail a must
Exceptional ability to set up and maintain solid systems
Ability to work on tight deadlines, adapt to changing situations, and handle confidential information
Demonstrated flexibility and openness in responding to changing work priorities
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
